time. It's time for another edition of Fighting for the Faith.

It is Wednesday, November 11, 2009, Veterans Day here in the United States.

You know, I don't think a lot of people get that off. I mean, I think if you work for a bank or the post office to get the day off, and not a lot of people that I know of get it off.

So it's a banking holiday. Thank you are listening to fighting for the faith. My name is Chris Roseboro and I am your servant in Jesus Christ and this is the hard-hitting program that

dishes up a daily dose of biblical discernment the goal of which is to get you to

think biblically to get you to think critically and to compare what people are saying in the name of God to the

word of God. We live in a day in age where Luther's description of the human heart

seems to be in overdrive. Luther described the human heart seems to be in overdrive.

Luther described the human heart as an idle factory.

And that's not IDLE, like it's sitting around idling.

No, it's IDOL, an idle factory. When you think of the, think of the cover

for Al Gore's Earth and the Lurch, I mean the inconvenient truth movie that came out a few years ago.

You got the big smokestack and think of the human heart as a belching smoke stack factory and it's producing false idols.

The problem is that that's the normal state of humanity. I mean,

listen, by nature, we are all sinners. We are all rebels against God.

Notice I'm using Shirley Phelps Roper's term, I'm stealing it from her.

Just because I don't like her to be the only one using good biblical terminology,

but she's right in that sense that we're rebels.

So we're all rebels against God God we're all apostates by nature we are all we all are

born with a bazooka pointed at God's forehead and we keep hitting the trigger

and lobbing those bazookas at God that's what we are by
