On today's college football inquire, the college football playoff quarterfinals are set.

We had a first round that had fewer blowouts than last year, but two competitive games,

two decidedly non-competitive games.

Is this the way it should be done?

Stephen Godfrey and I have some thoughts, and I think we might be on opposite sides.

Plus, let's get into those games.

Alabama, coming back against Oklahoma, Miami and Texas A&M playing a defensive struggle.

Oregon, moving on, Ole Miss, moving on.

Also, Michigan still doesn't have a football coach.

Probably need to talk about that, too.

And Godfrey, you and I were going at it over the text machine on Saturday night during the Oregon James Madison game.

And I figure we should just bring the audience right into this.

Ross was just laughing.

He was at home.

He'd had to travel day from hell.

We were entertaining him.

But the reason we were doing this is because we weren't engrossed in a football game

because James Madison and Oregon were playing and it was not competitive at all.

And when you and I were texting, I wasn't even watching.
