0:30.4	And one of those decisions is whether you choose the right spouse.
0:35.0	And in discussing that topic, I cover the two adages that we often hear about when it comes to Made Choice,
0:47.0	namely birds of a feather flock together versus opposites attract.
0:52.0	And the research shows that overwhelmingly when it comes to
0:56.4	the success of a relationship
0:58.8	viewed via a long-term lens it's much more birds of a feather flock together.
1:05.0	And then the question is, you know, the birds of a feather along which feather,
1:10.0	so they are assorting on which traits.
1:13.5	There are many traits.
1:14.4	So for example, men and women assort on height,
1:17.2	meaning that women prefer men who are taller than them.
1:20.8	Men prefer women who are shorter than them and so in naturally occurring.
1:25.1	There was a study whereby they looked at naturally occurring pairs and if I remember correctly
1:29.8	out of 720 naturally occurring couples. Only one was there a violation of the
1:37.0	the rule that you know men should be taller than women and so there are many many
1:42.0	traits on which people flock together if they share a similarity.
