And after last week's lesson on the martyrdom of Joseph Smith,

which was hard, I am grateful that this week we have nothing but good news in session 137 and 138.

I want to introduce them by telling a story when I was home from my mission for,

I've been home for a while, probably a couple of years,

and I was back in California visiting my parents.

And I'm sitting there in a sacrament meeting in the overflow and the very back.

And I'm looking at the back of the head of someone in front of me,

wondering if it's at all familiar, because it kind of seemed like it was.

Eventually, I saw the face and was shocked.

You see, there was a guy in my football team.

He was a senior when I was a junior.

And then he went off and graduated.

We weren't super close, but we're on the same team.

We were teammates.

And he was affectionately known by his nickname, Scum.

And that name can just kind of give you some mental suggestions as far as his personality was concerned.
