Actually, I have mixed feelings about being back with you.

On the positive side, I'm always grateful we get to spend time in the Scriptures together.

And today we have two amazing revelations to study, section 135 and 136.

But 135 is on the negative side because this is the eulogy that John Taylor writes for the Prophet Joseph Smith after the martyrdom.

And so that's the negative side of my mixed feelings.

That having to teach this today means that we have reached the end of Joseph Smith's life.

And I just am sad to see him go.

I remember the first year I taught seminary Book of Mormon and I fell in love with Lehigh.

Just the things that he taught and what he went through, I had never spent so much time with him.

And I remember going to class the day that we were going to be teaching the first chapters of Second Nephi, including the death of Lehigh.

And I didn't want to do it. I felt like I was an accomplice to the crime.

That if I didn't teach that day, then maybe somehow Lehigh would go on living.

But sure enough, I had to teach it.

And it was just devastating for me to realize that my time with him, scripturally speaking in the Book of Mormon, had come to an end.

It hit me that, well, I'll put it this way, Lehigh has never survived a reading of the Book of Mormon.

He always dies there at the beginning of Second Nephi.
