Hello, my friends, and I do mean friends.

The more I've been able to read your comments whether on YouTube or on Facebook,

the more I've been able to learn from your insights and answer your questions,

just the back and forth and starting to recognize names,

and it just feels like I'm getting to know my class,

which has been a blessing for me as a teacher.

One of the downfalls of this kind of online teaching is not being able to see your students,

not being able to get to know them one by one.

And so I'm grateful that we've been able to get to know each other a little bit

through the comment section and through other means of communication.

It's actually about friends that I want to start talking today,

because so many of you have stepped beyond simply the student status to reach out

and ask about my family when we've been going through some difficulties,

or to wish me well when we passed through COVID at the end of last year.

It reminded me of that passage in Joseph Smith history that we studied a few weeks ago.

When in the midst of, if I had asked the phrase, Joseph uses,

in the midst of our afflictions, we found a friend in a gentleman by the name of Martin Harris.
