0:00.0 | In today's episode of The Sixers Beat, Rich and I talk about our takeaways from the Doc Rivers press conference, what it could look like when he builds out the rest of his coaching staff and the imprint he can have on the Sixers' two young stars. |
0:18.0 | Enjoy the podcast. |
0:30.7 | All right. This is Derek Bodner, joined by Rich Hoffman on The Sixers Beat, a part of the Athletics Podcast Network. |
0:37.0 | You know, I guess because we're so bad at doing this, a couple of housekeeping notes. First of all, if you could, head on over to your podcast app of choice, but iTunes would be spectacular. Leave us a rating and a review. I'm not going to tell you to leave a five-star rating, but we do like the five-star ratings. And also, if you're not an athletic subscriber, head on over to theathletic.com slash Sixers beat. I think the $1 promotion is still going. Is that? They're, it's still going. Okay. $1 a month. It's the lowest it's ever. What are you doing? It is pretty much. I mean, look, we got it. We had a million people subscribe before it was $1 a month. Like most of them are paying $60 a year. |
0:55.8 | You can get it for 12 right now. It's a special discount. How is it not two million already? I don't have any, uh, data on our, on our subscriber analytics, but you know, I mean, one dollar. Go make it a million and one. We would really appreciate it. And we also think you will enjoy it as well. |
1:30.0 | I guess we had to start this off with Joel and Anna with, you know, we record our last |
1:37.2 | podcast right before they announced that they had a child, Arthur. |
1:41.9 | So we had to sort of add that in at the beginning. |
1:44.5 | And then now right before we go to record news breaks, that their dog, Klaus, |
1:50.3 | tragically passed away after an accident in an elevator, which it is, you know, |
1:57.4 | I lost a cat like two years ago. |
2:00.6 | And it's still, every now and then, it still, it just stings. Like, that is family. My heart certainly goes out to Anna and Joelle. It is, it's just, it's dead. And so young. Like, I think he got that dog like a little over a year ago. The way it happened, it's just a tragic circumstance. So I really feel for them right now. It's tough. It's tough. Yeah, that's brutal. And some of the pictures that, that, the funny thing behind the scenes, Joel seems like he's a real softy. And some of the pictures they just, they posted on Instagram. It is real tough time for them. I'm sure it's devastating. |
2:37.1 | So starting the pot off on a sour note. |
2:40.0 | Yeah, and one other sour note, too. |
2:41.8 | Shout out the Serena Winters. |
2:42.6 | Yeah. |
2:46.6 | It's not easy to come in from out of town. |
2:49.4 | We're a very parochial, local place. |
2:53.8 | And also not easy to replace Molly, who was pretty well liked here among Sixers fans. |
2:55.1 | Very popular as well. For good reason, too. |
2:56.1 | Yeah. |
2:56.8 | And to do what she did, which is, you know, I think she got hired right before two seasons |
