Hello and welcome back to the Kexp runcast with me, your host, John Richards, also host of the Kexp

0:06.1

morning show weekday 7 to 10 Seattle time. You can always go back to the archive if the runcast

0:12.1

isn't enough. I'm sure one of the shows will help you as we tend to motivate people each and every

0:17.7

day at Kexp. And I want to welcome you back. I hope your running's going well.

I am getting through some injuries and reducing my miles and trying to stay upbeat and positive

0:30.6

about it. And I know there'll be some help around the corner. In fact, I am now leaning towards

0:36.2

a ultra marathon next spring. So I will

0:39.8

keep you updated. This runcast is where I will suffer along with you. Because what's worse than a

0:45.6

marathon? Well, an ultra marathon. So when you're feeling injured and you're feeling motivated,

0:49.8

maybe find a calendar, find a race, circle something, and decide you're going to do it because I think that's what I'm going to be doing. A big thank you to my buddy Kevin, man. We got so much feedback on the last runcast. Just wanted to share a few emails like John and Kenmore said. Thanks for great runcast and encouragement this week. Just getting back on the running wagon, decided to do a little trail work at St. Edwards Park to the tune of the run cast. Really appreciate and commiserate with John about running for time versus just running. I'm definitely in the latter camp these days. Boy, I'm feeling you there. Can't believe I'm finally finding my way back to this hobby that I was obsessing over and over now for years. And now simply, I rely upon it to bring me some peace and a bit of joy. Also sore legs next morning.

1:29.3

Anyway, thanks again. Keep going.

1:30.5

Thanks, John and Kenmore.

1:31.3

And Dawn said, good morning.

1:32.4

Listen to Runcast 4 on the green tunnel of one of our Hudson Valley rail trails.

1:37.6

You and Kevin are keeping me floating above the labor, breathing, sore legs and roller coaster,

1:41.7

of blood sugar levels that comes with exercises,

1:44.6

insulin versus activity. Shout out to diabetes, training camp, staff, and alum. Signed up for my

1:49.8

third session with them in August, which got me back to running now. Slow and short, but it feels

1:55.5

good. Don, John, everybody listening, no matter how fast, how slow, how much you run, how little you run. as long as you're out there, you know, you're a runner. And I wanted to start local, local for me here at least, in Seattle with three things from the great northwest. Odessa coming up with a new one, Tomonakiyama with a new one, and Black Belt Eagle Scout to ease you into this, but it'll pick up. Trust me, this is about the most perfect title to start this run cast.

2:20.5

It's called Don't Give Up.

2:22.1

So important love it keeps me alive.

2:32.7

You wanted a second chance at life.
