Let me ask you a question. Do you take any of your relationships for granted?

Well I got a confession to make because I do. I do a lot sometimes.

The people that you love the most oftentimes you just assume they're always going to be there.

And sometimes you treat them sometimes like doormats and you actually don't give them the time they need, the credit they need, and the thanks.

what if you treated your partner like your clients?

What if you went out of the way for them to make sure that

they would continue doing business with you? How would that actually affect your

life? You know and a lot of us complain about the relationships we're in and we

complain about our kids and our wives and our husbands and our

parents and our best friends that they just don't get enough done or they don't do

this or don't do that but sometimes you should look in the mirror and what are

you doing for the relationship when was the last

time you told them thank you what was the last time you went and spent some time with them

planned a special evening with them or really went and did something that they found special.

And if you did that and really foster that relationship,

how much would that really enrich your life?

And it's one of the things I'm going to focus on a lot in 2017 is relationships is my inner circle of people

because let's be honest it's the inner circle of those people closest to you that

gives you the energy to go out there and crush the world, to do great things, to accomplish your

goals and make big moves. If you don't have that base, then you can never get

there. And this is something I learned from Esther Perrell, the Ted Speaker, and she taught me so much about really valuing those relationships.
