Hello, my friends and welcome back to the Morning Mindset. Have you ever thought of your

0:07.8

Christian faith this way that what you believe will translate into the way you live, so

0:14.3

in a way belief is life? And so it matters what we believe. We can't just really nearly

0:21.6

pick anything out there and make it a thing that we're going to hope in and put our trust

0:27.7

in. It has to be factual, it has to be true, and it has to be based on what God says is true.

Today as we dig into John 15, we're going to look at something that Jesus reveals in a

0:40.2

conversation with his disciples about what it means to be a friend of Jesus. Do you like that

0:47.4

thought? Do you have the warm fuzzies when you hear that idea of being a friend with Jesus?

0:53.3

Well, it's true and it can be true, but Jesus puts some qualifiers on what it means to be his

1:19.0

another as I have loved you. Okay, that's the command. And he goes on in verse 14 and he says,

1:26.2

you are my friends if you do what I command you. So Jesus is saying, if you love one another,

1:34.9

the way that I've loved you, then I consider you my friends. And my friends I want to be a friend

1:41.7

of Jesus. How about you? I want him to say, well done, good and faithful servant. Well done,

1:47.0

my friend when I see him face to face. I don't want to shirk away an embarrassment or with

1:53.7

with a lack of any fruit to show in my life. I want to demonstrate through my life that indeed I

2:01.2

love Jesus in that he is my friend and that I am a friend to him. But Jesus goes on in verse 15

2:07.8

and he speaks to his disciples saying no longer do I call you servants for servant does not know

2:15.1

what his master is doing. But I have called you friends for all that I've heard from my father

2:22.6

I have made known to you. Now think that through for a moment. Jesus is saying as my 12 followers
