In this podcast, Dr. Berg discussed visceral fat or dangerous fat. Insulin, a fat-making hormone, and the presence of even a little bit of it could cause to stop fat burning because it prevents the utilization of fat. 65% of the population is pre-diabetic. With high insulin, the body then protects itself from the damaging effects by developing a condition called Insulin Resistance, a protective mechanism to block the absorption of insulin. If the person continues to consume too many carbs too frequently, it will overload the blood and it has to go somewhere which then that sugar is converted into visceral fats, the fat around the organs, or inside the abdomen.
