pie, it would mean less for everybody else. Scarcity in this way is bigger than the simple

glass half-empty view of the pessimist. It's the glass half-empty, and if I don't drink all of it

right now, someone else might get to it first, and I'll die of thirst. That's the scarcity mindset.

Now, in his book, Covey contrasts this sense of scarcity with an abundance mindset.

And the abundance mindset, there isn't just one fixed pie that we're all trying to

competitively consume in a zero-sum game.

water. That's abundance. Scarcity is all about fear and protection. Abundance is all about fear and protection.
