I know that I feel this way myself sometimes.

projects. But I also know that avoiding the walls can have its pitfalls too. It's important to

stay engaged, right? Because life does happen in connection and in tandem with others. It happens in

experiences. It happens when we show up fully.

I know all about retreating into my private world, especially if the world feels overwhelming,

avoiding it can feel easier in certain instances. But instead, when I see the world as a teacher,

I don't pursue big things necessarily or show up everywhere, I can still place value on every small interaction, every place, every moment, as an opportunity to open my eyes a bit more, to grow, to love, to expand.

But if you do find yourself avoiding the world, I've noticed that

it can be because we fall into one of, let's say, four or five categories. The first is one that I

already mentioned, feeling overwhelmed. Is that you sometimes? I know when life feels loud, it's easy to retreat.

They can feel like there are a lot of demands or a lot of stimulation. So avoidance feels like

relief. You might also be hurt. You may be needing to deal with a feeling of being wounded or overcoming a failure or even

perfectly right, perfectionists would rather do nothing at all, thinking it's better to stay on
