What's up y'all Bethany and Kristen? I want to rewind back in time to the moment I remember so clearly

walking into the jewelry store and I had actually been looking through this specific jewelry store

their magazine and I remember seeing a specific ring that I wanted and I was

13 at the time and I remember finally the moment came and me and my dad went to the

jewelry store and I remember seeing it.

It was like a sterling silver ring with a little purple gem and like two little swirls on either

side and I was getting my purity ring and it was a tradition in our family when you turned 13.

It was 13 right? I think so, yeah. When you turned 13 you got to go with our dad to the

jewelry store and pick out a purity ring that would signify your commitments for saving

sex for marriage, for dating intentionally, whatever it is that you wanted this ring to represent for me that was saving my first

kiss for marriage and then I think my parents actually like kept it even though I picked it out I think they kept the ring

and we went to like our own a really fancy dinner and then they gave me the

ring it was almost like this little wedding ceremony of sorts and as a 13 year old girl

it was one of the most exciting things and one of the most exciting moments that I had experienced up into that point

because it's like a wow getting a like what felt like a real piece of glory that would last

in this like all of these commitments I it just felt so serious. But as the years

went on, unfortunately for me, this ring started to represent almost like a cage, almost like a cage, an identity, something that I had to live up to and something that I had to

live up to and something that I had to perform in, something that other people were looking at me

and saying like, wow, look at Bethany,
