When you have a pet, maybe a dog or a cat, or even a hamster or an iguana, part of taking care of that pet is cleaning up after them.

You know, they're poop. Whether it's scooping dog

doo-doo from the yard, cleaning caca from your cat's litter box, or picking out the pellet-sized

poops from a hamster's cage, dealing with dookie is just part of living with animals. That's what

led one of our listeners to ask this question. My name is Adrian, and I am from Louisville, Kentucky.

And my question is, do spiders poop?

Spiders definitely do poop.

And I can tell you this because here in our lab, we have tons and tons of spiders,

and we have them in little boxes in the lab

and we raise them, and they have little jungle gyms to play on when they run around.

And really, it's not very different from you or from most of the other animals that you can

think of that do this.

They poop on just about everything.

I study spiders, in particular, how they move and how they perceive the world.

You know, just about everything that eats has to have some way to get rid of the stuff that they can't digest.

But one of the big things in biology is whether to do this you have an entrance and an exit,
