This 31st chapter that has driven us crazy for years

because we think, who in the world is that?

And I mean, I respect her, but I do not want to have lunch with her.

I mean, this is a woman who has courage.

How can we be women of courage with kindness on our tongues?

Bold hearts. Gracious mouths. You and I are learning that in a world, even a believing world, where it's so polarized that we feel like we've got to go to one extreme or the other extreme,

and there's only one to be had or the other to be had, that in this case,

it is not either grace or grit, it is both grace and grit, both grace and...

And that brings us to number one, which is might in Christ takes grace and grit.

Number two is what?

And the beautiful thing is this. Whether you are 16 or you are 66 or you are 86, you can, and not only can, but must build muscle to be a mighty person of faith on planet Earth at this hour.

Turn back with me. We won't be here really long, but turn back with me to Proverbs 31 and verse 13.

She seeks wool and flax and works with willing hands.

And then I want you to notice that it says in verse 19.

So you're going to star verse 13 and 19 because they go together.

She puts her hands to the distaff and her hands hold the spindle.

And then it talks about her opening her hands to the poor and reaching out her hands to the needy.

But notice with me that she seeks wool and flax and works with willing hands. And then she puts her hands to the diss staff.

Now, I had to do a lot of looking into what a diss staff is.

I laughed with my staff this week because I said,

you know, the thing about being a teacher is all the preparation that we do

that never makes it to class.
