Hey, there. I'm so glad you stopped by for this podcast. We hope so much we can serve you today.

To the very finish of it. This is not what our lesson is about, so I'm not going to tear here.

But let's also know when something's finished. Sometimes we keep up with something.

After God's going, you know, actually that little phase, that little season, that was done.

And sometimes we're still so caught up. We decide that everything we're doing, God meant for us to do until our last breath on this earth.

That's not true. That's not true. Let's be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit.

And no, not only when it starts, not only how to keep it going, but when it's done, when it's just complete in us.

I had that feeling even coming this morning. I thought they're going to think I'm crazy when I go, well, we're done in John today.

Am I going to just keep it up, even though I think, no, I think we're done today.

I think now we're heading to our topical series. There wouldn't even be any fire in the spirit in it.

You're sure what I'm saying? Because it's not where God's leading.

Sometimes we realize we've stayed too long in a situation that was already finished.

Is that speaking anybody? I'm hearing it myself right now. I can tell you that.

Look with me then at what the word means. I want you to notice if you look back, if you compare verse 36 to second Corinthians chapter 8.

It says, when he says, for the very work that the Father has given me to finish in which I'm doing testifies that the Father has sent me.

One thing about it that testifies it was the Father is that he's going to finish it because God is a finisher of his works.

That word finish means, and I'm talking about verse 36 back in John 5.

That word, tell you, means to complete accomplish reaching one's prescribed goal, prescribed goal.

Prescribed.

I want you to think about it for a moment because God already knows what it's supposed to do.

Whatever work, and I'm just going to ask you, you relate this in your own life experience with God.

He knows what his objective is. He knows what he's after. It was already prescribed going in.
