is going well and that you are

enjoying some of this tremendous fall weather. October to November is when East Texas shows out,

and it's a wonderful time to be outside. Let's just call that an incidental reminder to go out

and take a walk and get a little exercise today. But the thing I do want to share with you today to remind you to reinforce in your life

are four very simple and powerful words. Do not be afraid.

You and I, as followers of Jesus, take very seriously the commands of the Lord. The New Testament is clear that to be a

disciple of Jesus, to be a Christian, to be faithful when Jesus utters commands, we keep them.

Did you know that of all of the instructions by Christ during his ministry, the one that is

mentioned most often, over 20 times are those four words,

or some variation of those words. Do not be afraid. So many of Jesus' instructions are character

fundamentals, the way you live, the way you see life, who you are in whatever

circumstance you're in. So can I ask you, have you learned how to do this? Wherever you are in life,

whatever you faced or are facing, have you learned what it means to trust in the Lord in such a way

that your walk in him is so tied to his presence, his grace,
