Today's 10 minute walk is helping both of us remain fitness consistent.

It is a Monday, and the importance of that, I'll circle back to in a moment.

One of the things, one of the themes, I guess, that is recurring in this podcast

is fitness motivation. Fitness is hard. Starting is hard. Sticking with it is even harder.

And I don't believe that for most of us the physical act of walking is the

really hard part of walking as a fitness activity not saying that it isn't

difficult and for some it's going to be harder than others but most of us can get

out take a walk a ten-minute walk and it's going to be harder than others. But most of us can get out, take a walk, a 10-minute walk,

and it's really not a hard thing to do.

And so when I say that you're doing a hard thing,

some misinterpret that and say, what?

That here's what's hard.

hard and and on that level i understand and don't disagree with what they're saying but that's not

what i'm referring to i'm referring to making the commitment starting the commitment and even more

importantly keeping the commitment, starting the commitment, and even more importantly, keeping the commitment. That's the hard thing. And it really speaks to motivation.

The motivation to keep pursuing fitness to stick with our commitment is really the hard part,

because motivation is fickle.

We can feel really motivated one day and then very unmotivated the next day.

We're wondering what happened? You know, yesterday I was loving this thing.

I couldn't wait to do this thing and today I don't want to have anything to do with it.
