Obviously, the big news of yesterday, Ross Colton deciding to sign his contract 10 minutes

after our podcast ended yesterday.

So we get to talk about it on today's show.

It's a $4 by $4 million.

Some people would call that a David Jones money.

Initial thoughts, Megan, I know yesterday none of us were really concerned about them having not signed yet.

Now that you see the deal, how do you feel about it?

Well, I can't help but feel like it was a little bit rich because it's just not what I anticipated.

The high end for what I was guessing was around 3.5.

So it came in just a little higher than I expected. And with four years, that's decent term as well.

So I thought one of those two things might have been smaller. But overall, and especially having time to think about it, I think because it's four years especially, I feel good about it

because I think it's a contract that he's meant to grow into in a way. I think they have this

idea in mind for what the high-end upside is for Ross Colton that they're hoping he can reach in

years two, three, four. And that being said, I would even draw a comparison to Carter Rehagie out of Florida.

And it's a bit bold at the moment. I think this is where he could grow into it really comes into

play. But both of these players, their projection was similar. And then with more opportunity,

Verhege, it just became prolific for him in Florida and with

the heightened opportunity as well.

And it's given me then pause, and I've reflected on what Ross Colton's role in Colorado

was then going to be.
