conversation, but solely within the prism of the scouting combine that was completed last

week in Indianapolis.

And of all the quarterbacks who had an opportunity to either impress or depress NFL evaluators, the one who appeared to rise up the most in the eyes of the Steelers,

according to Chris Halleck, our beat reporter at D.K. Pittsburgh Sports, was Alabama's Ty Simpson.

And I'm going to go right ahead and guess that this will excite exactly nobody within the current context of what the Steelers are trying to do in finding their next franchise player at the most important position.

Why?

Well, let's count the ways. Simpson is 23, so he's not like exceptionally young or anything.

He had one season as a starter for Alabama.

Now, it was a good one.

He completed 64.5% of his passes.
