This NFL scouting combine begins next week in Indianapolis, and only about 99% of what gets bandied about at an event like that, is the NFL draft, which of course will be a bigger deal than ever in our city.

But before that, before anybody even starts running their 40s and doing all the

other strength and conditioning tests, there will be availability with the people running the

Steelers. And for the first time, really, since the season ended, they're going to be about

something other than welcoming Mike McCarthy

as the new head coach. To be more specific, Omar Khan is going to be available to Pittsburgh

reporters, including our own Chris Halleck, who will be there covering it, Tuesday morning. Two days

later, McCarthy's going to be having his own session with Pittsburgh reporters.

Now, for anybody who says, why didn't you just ask questions about football stuff whenever

all those guys were sitting at the podium, it's just a different setting.

You can, but you're kind of the weirdo to do so. Just being honest with you here.
