The visitors coming up with 21 hits, three each by Nick Gonzalez, Nick York, two each by Jostensen Garcia,

Andy Rodriguez, Termar Johnson, and Jake Mangum.

That's quite the offensive output under any circumstance.

I throw five walks into that, and the Pirates reached base safely 26 times.

But you know and I know, that's not how the headlines go from events like this,

because I neglected to mention that

Connor Griffin also had two hits.

Only his two cleared the imitation monster that the Red Sox have built in Fort Myers and

left field.

He went two for four with four RBIs out of those two blasts.

The first of those coming off Ranger Suarez, no less.

It's at least somewhat noteworthy that those were Griffin's two first hits of the spring.

This was his third game. He's now two for nine with two strikeouts, no walks.
