Mets 4 Pirates 3 last night in New York. Paul Skeens pitched

six fine innings, particularly considering the caliber of the billion dollar opposition,

a run in six hits, six K's, three walks. He wasn't dominant,

only had six swings and misses, but believe me, I thought about to be one of those

nimrods who's pointing to skeins in any negative context, just because the team is now three and six in games that he starts.

Even if Skeen's acknowledged after the game to reporters in New York,

including our own Greg McAfee of D.K. Pittsburgh Sports,

that he hasn't really felt all that awesome over his last couple of turns.

Could have been better. Just spraying it a little bit too much when I probably shouldn't have.

It's kind of been something we're working through.

But that's frankly, that's probably as bad as it gets and being able to get out of there with

one run is a good thing but you know we're more efficient maybe we go seven maybe we go eight

so um yeah it's got to be better yeah i mean he can say whatever He's just, yeah, he's fine.

And the way he pitched was obviously more than good enough for both he and the team to have gotten a W.
