Freed. General rule of thumb for any manager is you don't play the same guys twice

in a double header. I'm going to guess that Don Kelly is going to break that rule again for Valdez.

Because first off, if you've noticed, the Pirates been playing a lot of double headers lately.

This will be their third in a span of 11 days.

In the first two, Voltaire's did, in fact, play both games.

Against the Brewers on the 11th of July, he went.

Four for eight with three home runs and eight RBIs.

If there was such a thing as a CGI version of Daily Shot of Pirates, that's the kind of stuff

it would say.

A week later, the 18th of July, in Cleveland, meaning Saturday.

Faldes played both games again, went two for eight,

with a home run, a double, couple of RBIs.

Big letdown after the previous doubleheader.

The kid, and I do mean kid, because he's 22 years old, is ridiculous.

Now, yeah, small sample size warning and everything else.
