You might think of Doer as being one of the older guys on the team.

That'd be understandable.

It's kind of the way he carries himself on the ice with so much responsibility,

so much grit and determination.

He just has that veteran thing about him.

And, in fairness, he just completed his seventh season in the NHL.

One catch.

He's 26.

That's it.

And he's fresh off a career year to the extreme. Career high, 14 goals, career high, 16 assists,

obviously a career high, 30 points. A blowing it out of the water career high plus 16 rating,

he'd never even been a plus player with either the Wild or the Maple Leafs.

And on top of all that, I know the playoffs were short, just six games, but he tied for the team

lead with the two goals that he scored. He was great on penalty killing, not just in the actual

kill, but also in the way he would break behind the defense time and time again.

And by the way, get a good many of his goals in that same way.
