Every time an article about gender roles and marriage goes viral, my inbox explodes.

And this brings me a lot of joy because I want to hear everything from everyone.

But I got to tell you, one particular article really set my phone on fire.

A few weeks ago, at least two dozen women, married women, single women, straight women, queer women,

they all sent me the same cut headline.

This economist crunched the numbers and stopped dating men.

I mean, I want to hear everything.

The woman behind it is the economist Corinne Lowe.

She's a professor at Wharton who studies women's careers, family trade-offs, and the brutal math

of modern marriage. She also lives, like, right down the street from me, so I'm going to try

to bring her into my friend group. In her new book, Having It All, which is out now and is so

fantastic, she takes everything she's learned from her research, from her students,

and from her own subsequent marriage and divorce, and lays things out very plainly.

The data does not lie. The way that we have structured heterosexual relationships does not work

for most women. So Corin's on the show today, and we are going to talk about what it

actually means to divorce heterosexuality, how caregiving becomes an unpaid second job,

almost all of the time, and why the tradwife fantasy is such a lie. But, but, but we're not going to be

massive bummers. We are also talking about how to fix it, how to level up, how to find joy again,

and how to build a partnership that doesn't kill your soul.
