0:16.0	ancient art or science of alchemy what is it what did it mean in the ancient world and what does it mean to us today? I love to talk about
0:26.5	alchemy da because I think I think so much of what we discuss on this show whether it's
0:31.2	intuition and psychic development or manifesting in magic
0:35.0	really does have elements of alchemy rolled into it.
0:38.0	Oh, I think everything's alchemy.
0:41.0	And this is a gal who only managed to get through chemistry by the
0:45.7	grace of a very kind high school chemistry teacher. So there you go. Well let's talk
0:50.6	about what it was historically. There were two basic concept that described the intent of alchemy.
0:56.8	One was that the alchemists wanted to turn base metal, like lead, for example, into gold.
1:02.6	And the second was that the alchemist wanted to discover or create
1:06.8	and then use an elixir that would make him immortal.
1:10.0	I mean, those are two pretty amazing things.
1:12.6	Absolutely they are.
1:14.3	And before we take a deep dive into those concepts,
1:18.0	there's a third definition of alchemy and its intent that might be closer to the truth, at least for us today.
1:27.0	But before we get there, let's talk about this history.
1:30.0	So according to the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Art of Alchemy was passed through centuries from Egypt and Arabia to Greece and Rome and then to Central and Western Europe.
