Hello and welcome to the Christian Science Daily Lift, a podcast brought to you by the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts.

Today's inspiration is being shared by Nancy Grafay, who's from Attleboro, Massachusetts.

A number of years ago, after finishing graduate school, I was at a crossroads in my life and needed to decide where to go in my career.

Eager to explore my options with a Christian science practitioner friend and teacher, I called him on the phone. His response was warm and friendly, but brief. He said firmly, mind knows, and that was it. I understood immediately what he meant. Mary Bakeretti, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, gave mind, with a capital M,

as a name for God.

There are numerous passages in the Bible that confirm this.

One of my favorites is, he is in one mind, and who can turn him, and what his soul desireth, even that he

doeth. In the days that followed, I found this all-knowing mind, the infinite Father,

Mother God, speaking directly to me as I explored my options. Because divine mind knows, I know,

because I'm God's spiritual creation, never separate from him. As it turned out, I didn't immediately

return to teaching, which had been my original goal. Instead, I happily began

other work, but also led me to meet my future husband. After several years, I returned to the

education field, and when I did, I was much better prepared because of the other choices I had pursued first.

If you are unsure of which direction to take next, turn to your father, mother, God, the mind that is all knowing and all wise.

God knows what is best for each one of us and always stands ready to help

clarify our options. As my trusted friends said to me those many years ago, mind knows. And that

brief response has resonated with me whenever I've faced a crossroads in my life.
