We live in a fast-paced, ever-moving world where everyone seems to be rushing in every direction.

And yet, in scripture, God desires to teach us that walking with him is our greatest and most important adventure.

Philip was preaching, people were getting saved, God was doing miraculous things, I mean,

it was powerful. Acts chapter 8, verse 8 says, and there was great joy in that city.

presence and people right with God and in fellowship with one another? And you would imagine

that'd be a good place to stay. Let's just stop here. Philip could just settle down and live there

and continue to minister there. And it's in that context, in the middle of all of that.

Verse 26, that the angel of the Lord spake into Philip, saying arise and go toward the south

unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. I'll just tell you,

this makes no sense. From a human standpoint, to leave the city and go to the

desert, to leave blessing and go to nothing, to leave this time of refreshing and go to what seems like

barrenness, Lord, what are you doing? I want to talk to you today about divine appointments.

You see, as we journey through life, Philip was called on here to make a journey,

and as he's journeying from place to place to place,

God is making divine appointments for him.

There are some appointments that we set for ourselves, and then there are others that are set for us.

Birth was your first divine appointment. God made that one for you.

And death and judgment is your final divine appointment.

The Bible says it's appointed them in once to die, and after this is the judgment.
