I wanted to begin talking about this new disinformation governance board that the

Department of Homeland Security is setting up and it's to coordinate

countering disinformation or misinformation which is what I call lies, but you know polite

society has to call it whoppers or some kind of euphemism.

It's tasteful.

So the disinformation governance board Board and it's specifically to counter

disinformation related to homeland security focused specifically on

irregular migration and Russia. Now this is nothing new. We have had

all kinds of disinformation governance all through the Cold War. It's what every

country does. But the right wing

used this as an excuse to flip out and I wanted to talk about it. Steve Cortez who

never met a Trump lie he wouldn't push was saying the Biden administration goes all in

Orwellian with America's new Ministry of Truth headed by a disinformation fellow who

happens to have a Ukraine flag at her bio because of course.

The Disinformation fellow is Nina Jankewiz. She's executive director of the Homeland

Security Disinformation Governance Board which is there to counter lies.

It's not there to censor anybody.

It's there to call out bullshit.

That's it.

No censorship, and she was a disinformation fellow at the Wilson

Center and she advised the Ukrainian foreign ministry as part of the Fulbright Public Policy
