It is the first full week of January 2015 and this tends to be a time of year this is the big

gear shift this is where all the new years resolutions are kicking in this is the new exercise

program this is the it's gonna be different this year yeah yeah the loathing the

repentance the self-reproach from the indulgence of the holidays.

That'll be the same.

Yeah, all that.

And then it tends to be blast, right?

It's time to kind of kick into, you know, works demanding,

kids are going back to school, all that stuff.

Time out, pause, wait, a ruh!

A ruh!

Like, we just want to offer you one very simple thing before all of that kicks in or maybe

it has and as it is kicking in hang on hang on

stay with us one simple thing we tend to talk about this every year about this time because this simple spiritual act, this one little practice is going to prove so helpful and so rich through the course of the coming year.

Somewhere around the beginning of the year, we have taken up the practice of asking Jesus for his words to us over the year.

And we give a little time to this because sometimes it takes some time to hear him and sometimes he'll speak

in different ways he'll bring you a scripture he'll bring you words from a friend

you'll hear him directly in your heart speaking to you he He can get this across to you in lots of ways.

But giving you a little space, you know a few days to this, but asking Jesus, Lord,

what is your word to me over this year?

Do you have a theme?
