| 0:00.0 | The New Beverly Cinema presents the Pure Cinema Podcast. |
| 0:12.3 | My name is Brian Sauer. |
| 0:14.2 | I am joined, as always, by Mr. Elric Kane. |
| 0:18.6 | And we are back, Mr. Kane, to one of our regular favorite things to do, which is what? |
| 0:23.9 | Well, I've replaced the delightful. |
| 0:26.5 | As you, that's probably the first of all. I haven't been delightful, so I'm just going to go with it. |
| 0:31.4 | But, no, it's true. I am internally delightful. |
| 0:34.6 | We are going to go back to the well, something I never get sick of with our |
| 0:39.1 | director of missing pieces. I could do this for the right. We could make the whole show just this, |
| 0:42.8 | and I still wouldn't probably clog them all before we kark it. So I always find there's just, it's a fun |
| 0:49.5 | way to go looking for what to watch because you kind of go around some old classic directors we bring up a lot. |
| 0:56.2 | Then you think about the people you've seen almost everything of them and you look to see if there's a single hole. |
| 1:01.0 | These are always people I've seen most of their movies. |
| 1:04.2 | I think that's part of it. |
| 1:05.6 | To do directing missing pieces and you've only ever just discovered the director isn't really the intention of this part, |
| 1:11.3 | but it could be used that way, I think. |
| 1:13.8 | I do a little of both. |
| 1:15.0 | Like, I mean, I'll have a director that, and I have one in here that directed like one of |
| 1:20.1 | my favorite movies and I've seen like a handful of his others, but like I'm using that |
| 1:25.7 | as a jumping off point. |
| 1:26.6 | But I totally get your point of like it should, it makes sense for it to be a director that you like, you know, already. Yeah, for me. And again, the show is used in the way we want to use it for ourselves, right? And that's how I always think. Like me and you have, you know, the slightly different agendas to how we want to watch stuff. And I think that's always a good way to reflect it. I think it started out like that for sure, where it was like, huh, I am missing this one film by this person and might not be their best film. So these aren't always our favorite movies. Sometimes there are. Sometimes there's real discoveries in here. And sometimes it's more just like, oh, this was interesting because it's because of the goal is to fill that gap. Part of the inspiration of doing it right now was that I had a biggie, which isn't going to be one of my official picks, but I wanted to mention it up top because it played as Cinema Voids. So I had never, I thought I had at one point, but I'd seen some clips, and it turns out I hadn't seen Robert |
| 2:18.7 | Altman's images, despite owning it on two different formats for the last 15 years. |
