publishing, firstly with a digital first imprint and also with a big publisher.

as well as thoughts on how money and control differ from the choice to go indie. So at points in

In publishing and book marketing news, well, it is rare that I talk about hardware,

but there are two new e-reader devices this week.

First of all, the Kobo-Clarra 2E, a more eco-conscious e-reader made with ocean-bound and recycled plastic, upgraded touchscreen, more storage, Bluetooth and it's waterproof.

And also Amazon launched the Kindle Scribe, the first Kindle for reading and writing, which comes with a stylus, so you can handwrite notes, and that is really

interesting. So I think this is fascinating because a few years back, people were saying, oh,

e-readers are going to disappear. People will only use their phones to read e-books and other devices,

other sort of tablet devices. But these companies keep investing in more

specific e-reading devices. So clearly there is a market. Now, I think the scribe is particularly

interesting as my husband had a few, well, probably a year or so. I don't know, time flies, but he

bought a better iPad
