It happens every year, a rush of new diets, pr refreshes of older ones, flood book shelves, facebook feeds, and boring TV shows all claiming to be the your answer to nailing your weight loss goals or improving your health this year. How can you cut through all the hype and see which one is actually worth your time and money? IN this episode, Jon and Megan introduce a new series looking to provide deeper insights in some of today’s latest diet trends to cut through the hype so you can make an informed decision and get started on nailing that New Year’s resolution. There’s no denying that the ketogenic diet (keto for short) is the hottest new nutrition trend. We're calling it Diet Decoded. And look, this is the time of year. It happens to be the new year now. And if you're not listening in the new year, maybe you're listening in the spring. But diet is a yearly topic, a year-round topic, I should say. And it's a topic that confuses a lot of people. So it kind of makes sense to tackle this. Now, how many people do you know that tackle a diet in the new year a lot like the majority i would think most everybody yeah exactly it's probably 80% of new year's resolutions if not if not higher i don't have any actual stats on that by the way it's it's a made-up stat in my head but it's probably pretty high and you know of those people who start at how many actually, like, see it through?

1:47.6

I don't know. I don't have those stats either, but it's probably not that high. I have seen, I have seen stats on this. There was, there was a study from East Stroudsburg University, I want to say,

1:54.1

a couple years back that basically said that 90% of us are going to not see through the New Year's

2:00.8

resolution that by the end of the

2:02.3

year, 10% will actually cross that finish line with their New Year's resolution. And most of those

2:06.8

New Year's resolutions being diet related. So that's that's kind of, that's kind of, it's

2:12.1

upsetting. Yeah. Kind of depressing. And it's like, get it because you you start something like this

2:21.4

whether it's the new year or whether it's spring getting ready for summer you start with so

2:25.3

much energy and like this is it this is the I'm gonna do it this is the time I'm great

2:30.0

and then you're just like okay how am I gonna do it like I don't know where to start so
