Summary

"Who did you vote for?" It's a loaded question, but for Carl he simply pulls the green card. So is there such a thing as piety in the poll booth? How should Christians vote? In our recent presidential election, Carl, Aimee & Todd sniff out some sloppy theology that surfaced during and after the vote, and they share pros and cons to Trump's future leadership. Thankfully for the Christian, our hope and firm foundation is not found in a mortal man or woman or a political party ... no matter who goes "home" to the White House, we know who reigns on high. The Alliance has a few of copies of "Republocrat: Confessions of a Liberal Conservative" by Carl Trueman that we are giving away. 1:13.2

ways, posed a significant challenge because Trump is certainly not a conventional conservative,

1:20.7

doesn't appear to be a conventional Christian in any shape or form, and that raises, I think, issues for Christians as they come to think about

1:31.1

how to look towards what they should expect from Trump presidency. So I want to start by asking

1:37.1

a question. This was a question that was posed to me in the form of a statement a few weeks ago.

1:43.4

Did God intervene at the beginning of November to make Donald Trump president?

1:49.4

What do you think about that?

1:51.6

Well, before the election, God was just kind of hanging out with his arms behind his head, relaxing,

1:58.4

letting us run the show.

1:59.8

Yes.

2:00.6

And then all the sudden... he saw that there were problems

2:04.8

yeah and um so he had to reach down then and intervene kind of like when i'm looking for a parking

2:10.3

space yes um at Costco on one of those busy days and i have to you know please lord intervene and

2:17.4

open up a parking

2:18.2

space for me. Yes, yes. Oh, that's so refreshing. Yeah, well, you know, Amy makes the point.

And I've had the statements made to me through social media as well as in personal conversations,
