0:00.0	Hello and welcome back to Sochiology 101. As you can see, we have our guests back with us today, Dr. Ken Wilson. Welcome Dr. Wilson to the program again.
0:17.0	Good to be back with you, ladies. Well, y'all remember if you watched the previous
0:21.6	program that Dr. Wilson is the premier scholar on Augustine's teaching, especially with regard to
0:28.7	his views on predestination, election, the things that we like to discuss here on the program.
0:34.2	And Dr. Wilson, I had such an outpouring of response from our first video. I immediately
0:39.6	emailed him back and said, Dr. Wilson, can we do this again? And he was gracious enough to say yes.
0:46.2	More than just that, Dr. Wilson also fulfilled another request of mine, which was to take his dissertation and make it a little bit more
0:57.1	accessible for the layman and for those of us who may not be able to read the very large
1:03.4	work that was involved in his Oxford PhD dissertation over Augustine's writings. And that's exactly what he did. In fact, I'm going to
1:14.1	pull up on the screen, Dr. Wilson, the cover of the book. You can see that the foundation of
1:19.7	Augustinian Calvinism by Dr. Ken Wilson there. And a great endorsement there from Dr. Pullman on
1:26.4	the back from the University of Bristol,
1:28.6	which gives a good summary of what you're covering there, and much of which what we talked
1:33.4	about in our previous program. In addition to be an Oxford scholar on Augustinian theology,
1:41.1	Dr. Wilson is a orthopedic hand surgeon, and so he's a busy man and an intelligent man,
1:47.8	and we're just honored to have him at Sociology 101 as kind of our go-to scholar for all things
1:54.2	dealing with Augustine and the teachings of early church fathers. But in specific, what we thought would be interesting is to go
2:03.9	through some of those early church fathers and really engage with maybe some of the Calvinistic
2:10.6	responses to Dr. Wilson and to others who those of us who do claim, and I think rightly so, that the early
2:19.1	church fathers did support a doctrine of libertarian freedom of the will like you and I would
2:24.1	hold to.
2:25.3	There are some, I know Michael Horton has put out this in a portion of his book.
