0:11.8	And I'm Patrick Miller. Right now we are asking who is Jesus.
0:17.0	A few years back I remember hearing a street evangelist talking to a passer-by and he says to this guy have you accepted Jesus as
0:25.8	your personal savior the passer by kind of slows down and gets a little wide-eyed
0:31.2	and double-checks that he's really the person who's being talked to.
0:36.2	And when he realizes that he really is the one that this Street Evangelis is addressing,
0:41.5	he looks a little bit confused, he turns around and he asks this question,
0:46.0	my personal savior from what? And the evangelist responds, well, he's your personal savior from hell and your sin.
0:55.0	And the guy is a little more composed now, he goes, oh, well, I don't really believe in hell and I'm a good person.
1:01.0	So thanks, but no thanks, and he walks off.
1:03.6	I couldn't believe what I saw.
1:05.2	In a tiny little 30 second conversation, Jesus somehow became a spiritual concierge,
1:11.5	guiding the willing convert from hell to heaven.
1:15.0	And of course, if someone's not really interested in going to heaven, if they don't want
1:19.2	that particular vacation, well they're free to pass.
1:22.2	Thanks, but no thanks. The tragedy wasn't just
1:25.2	that someone passed on Jesus. It's also that a single question, have you
1:29.9	accepted Jesus as your personal Savior savior made King Jesus look utterly
1:34.4	trivial to this guy. And now maybe that question wouldn't be so bad if it
1:39.7	actually reflected the words of Jesus, but here's the truth. Jesus never calls himself a
1:45.0	personal Savior. You will never find those words anywhere in the New Testament, much
