Legendary fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg.

Her iconic rap dress shot her to stardom in the 1970s,

landed her on the cover of Newsweek when she was just 29 years old.

Today, she's embarking on what she calls her third app.

It was inspired by her late mother, a Holocaust survivor who defined strength for Diane.

My mother always said to be a woman is an advantage.

And when she referred to men, she always said,

the poor ones, the poor ones, you know,

but in a nice way, in an affectionate way.

So I, that's the way I was raised,

so I already kind of assumed that to be a woman was good.

Plus, she tells us she didn't think she was beautiful when she was younger.

How can that be? For DVF, this is anything but the end of her career. She's continuing to lead

in the industry, embracing social media as she talks to her millennial consumers. Here's my
