I began my career as a journalist more than 50 years ago.

And when I started as an investigative reporter, I'll be candid.

The biggest risks we faced were a lack of sleep and paper cuts.

And hearing the stories that we've heard this morning and hearing and seeing the courage

of the journalists this morning is awe-inspiring to me.

So let me take off my journalist hat for a moment and put on my historian's hat and perhaps

He ran a highly successful, innovative brokerage firm.

He was an advisor to Wall Street and Washington.
