I'm not joined by Will Heflin this evening. Will is out celebrating UCLA's loss to begin their NCAA tournament run that might be short-lived.

So Will unable to join us tonight because he is celebrating the Bruins' defeat.

So you all are stuck with me after Tennessee loses its first game of the NCAA tournament as well.

Tennessee loses to East Carolina 7 to 3 in the first game of the Chapel Hill Regional.

Hate that Will wasn't able to join us tonight, but did at least want to still get on here

and share some of my thoughts from the game earlier today.

One that was very frustrating for Tennessee baseball and for those of you

who were, of course, watching it was something. And it was as frustrating as it gets if you're on

the Tennessee side of things because you had ample opportunities to win that baseball game.

And, of course, so much happened.

And I have several thoughts to share.

So bear with me as I try to run through all of this solo and recall everything that did happen and did take place because, again, there was a lot that did.

14 innings, Tennessee and East Carolina plays on Friday to kick off the Chapel Hill.

Regional, it was a low-scoring affair for most of the game, both starting pitchers pitched

well.

East Carolina staff pitched very well as a unit.

And then there were some runs and extra innings as they traded blows, but Tennessee was

unable to land the decisive blow. East Carolina was the one that was able to in the top of the

14th inning. And we will, of course, get two extra endings.

But I want to attempt to go in chronological order here.

And we will start from the jump.

And that begins with Ryan Towers, who is the lefty that we knew was going to start for East Carolina.
