You're here on the hump day edition of the yard. Hope you're well today. Hope you having a good week. Bulldogs having a pretty good stretch here. How about that? Yeah, we got a lot to talk about today. We absolutely do. We're going to get in some portal stuff a little bit later. We'll talk about how that impacts Mississippi State football and men's or women's basketball. Got some baseball stuff to cover. Of course, I was in Memphis last night. If the bulldogs are playing, I'm just about always there, with a rare exception. I had to miss a few games this year, which I hate. I didn't miss the ball game last night in Memphis. Let me say this before we get too deep in the

weeds here. The game needs to be played at AutoZone. It truly does. Because of the fact,

there is such interest that we have such a large alumni and fan base in the greater Memphis area,

you need to be able to accommodate everybody.

There were fans turned away at the gate last night.

They only have 550 grandstand seats, and they cut tickets off,

even though there was plenty of standing room only.

I don't know the fire drill.

You know, I don't know what the fire marshal is telling them I've got to do there.

But, yeah, a lot of Bulldog fans showed up expecting and hoping to get tickets and couldn't get tickets. I was there. Even had some sit outside and watch from the parking lot. Shouldn't be that

way. We're not above that sort of thing. I mean, we'll back our pickup trucks out there and put

lawn chairs in the back, like the old days

of the left-field lounge.

But all that I understood, I get that Memphis wants

to have a real home-filled advantage.

I understand that.

But when you cannot accommodate the crowds,

then you got to do something different.

So for those of you that made the trip to Memphis, or maybe you live in Memphis, and you couldn't get access yesterday, my heart goes out to you. You missed a pretty good ballgame, which your Bulldogs won. We're going to break that down. But, again, my feelings, and they have been well versed over the years. And when John Cohen was on the Division I baseball committee, I told him, I said, John,

you've got to stop rewarding these G5 teams with hosting regional opportunities

if they cannot accommodate the crowds necessary.
