So, hello, and welcome to this continuation of our Samadhi series.

And we've had a break for a week, and so I hope that meditation today was a little bit, you know,

kind of getting us, getting you a little bit more back into the flow of what we've been doing these last months.

And for the topic of this week, the focus will be on the second Janna.

When I was here, the last week I was here, we discussed, I discussed the first Janna.

And the second Janna is kind of a deeper form of well-being,

a deeper form of pleasure and joy and happiness.

And one of the characteristics of it is that it's a sense of well-being, joy and happiness, pithi and sukkha, that's born of concentration,

born of samadhi, and born of the state of meditation that comes.

In the first, John, the joy and the happiness that's there

is born from seclusion, from being separated from the preoccupations,

the concerns of our everyday life.

Being separated, even more importantly,

being separated from unwholesome thinking, to be caught up in the hindrances, for greed or ill-will,

to be caught up in kind of a rigid, dull mind, to be caught in restlessness and regrets, to be caught in doubt,

is unwholesome. And so there's this delight and joy and happiness when we're no longer caught

in the unwholesome, no longer caught up in the mind, the difficulties of the mind.

So part of like, and they, and what's fueling the first John in a sense is Vitaqan vichara,

two of the jaunic factors of this massage of applied attention and sustained attention.

So there is some intentionality, there is some giving ourselves over to the meditation in the first jana.
