| 0:52.1 | And tamadi is the Buddhist word for being deeply immersed in the meditation, |
| 0:56.0 | deeply immersed in anything that we're doing, where that immersion, there is no holding back, there's no resistance, |
| 1:04.0 | there's no self-consciousness in a kind of attached way. |
| 1:10.0 | There's a giving ourselves over to the meditation, to the attention |

| 1:22.5 | And a lot of that has to do with letting go. |
| 1:26.0 | And I think I mentioned some time ago that one of the first instructions that I received |
| 1:31.8 | about going into samadhi was in Thailand when first went there to practice. |
| 1:39.3 | And I met some monk who said that he was a little bit dismissive, I think, of samadhi. |
| 1:47.1 | And he said that samadhi just involves letting go. |
| 1:52.0 | Just let go, let go, let go. |
| 1:55.9 | But I don't think we need to be dismissive of it. |
| 1:59.0 | It's kind of remarkable that if you place yourself in a |
| 2:04.5 | nice meditative posture and then let go, that this natural process occurs that is a kind of |
| 2:14.2 | a releasing, a freeing, a deepening, a sense of well-being that wells up, |
| 2:22.5 | that almost as if, it's almost as if a natural state of being immersed in our activity |
| 2:28.9 | brings joy without there be any worldly reason for that joy to be there, except for the complete |
| 2:38.5 | immersion in the activity that we're doing, with the meditation we're doing. |
| 2:44.0 | And so this deeper release into the meditation, we're releasing a lot of things, but one of the things we're releasing |
