| 0:36.0 | Emotions are an important part of our life. And mindfulness meditation is meant to offer, |

| 0:43.0 | And as I've often said that I love the word respect as a synonym for mindfulness |
| 0:50.0 | because the Latin roots of it could be understood as to see again, |
| 0:58.1 | to give a second look to what's happening. |
| 1:01.6 | So to respect emotions is to give it it really take a look at it second. |
| 1:07.0 | Don't just take it at the first impression but take a second look what's happening here. |
| 1:12.0 | So one of the principles of practicing mindfulness |
| 1:18.6 | of emotions and mindfulness meditation is in fact to have a deep respect for emotions. |

| 2:05.0 | but also without participating, either reactively, pushing it away or judging it negatively or or participating in it by leaning into it and telling ourselves stories that perpetuate it and keep it going. |
| 2:15.0 | And I'm fond of the idea that the word emotion has the word motion in it and the Latin prefix E means out. |
| 2:27.0 | Emotions are things that are moving out. |
| 2:31.0 | They represent that we've been touched, we've been moved in some way. |
| 2:34.0 | And in and of itself, it represents our capacity to be moved, to be involved, to |
| 2:47.0 | be involved in a way that's, to this world, with ourselves, |
| 2:52.0 | that something deep gets elicited, something deep |
