So welcome to this fourth talk on the Buddha before Buddhism. And before I begin, I'd like to make a

couple of announcements.

One is that the scenery will change tomorrow for this.

I'm going down to our retreat center, Insight Retreat Center,

for a short kind of teaching that I'll be doing down there today and tomorrow.

So in tomorrow morning I'll be in the meditation hall or in the walking hall of the retreat center. And so you'll see me there.

And then the other is that at this time of year, as many organizations, we have an end-of-the-year

letter that goes out and fundraising letter.

And some of you might be interested in reading what I wrote.
