Hello, welcome to the All That Politics Podcast.

I'm Adam Bolton and joining me this week are the editor of the Courier in Scotland, David Clegg,

Well, this week, what else could we talk about?

But the new measures being introduced by the governments of the nations of the United Kingdom

to deal with the COVID outbreak.

We'll also take a look at somewhat overshadowed,

but first leader's speech by the new Labour leader, Keir Starrman.

Let's go first of all to what happened this week

and the way that we were promised or told that we would have to have three more months, most likely, of lockdown measures of some kind.

If we can curb the number of daily infections and reduce the reproduction rate to one, then we can save lives, protect the NHS and the most vulnerable,

and shelter the economy from the far sterner and more costly measures that would inevitably

become necessary later on. So we're acting on the principle that a stitch in time saves nine.
