Packers got the word out that they were going to be releasing cornerback Jayae Alexander.

I think that they were implementing a move first perfected by Bill Belichick to get the word out early in the day that a guy is going to be cut in the hopes that somebody calls and trades for him before 4 o'clock Eastern.

That didn't happen.

Maybe the call came, but they weren't able to get a deal done if there was even any effort to do so yesterday.

Jair Alexander was released by the Packers.

Devin, let me get your thoughts.

What was your immediate reaction when you heard the Packers,

which is moving on from this guy,

who had been, when healthy,

one of the best cover corners in the NFL?

Yeah, I'm a Jari Alexander fan,

but I expected it.

I think whenever you hear a team is supposedly trying to trade a guy,

and after time goes by and you don't trade them, it's hard to just welcome him back on the team.

And I think if you follow Jyn Alexander at all in his career,

you really wouldn't assume he's the guy that you're going to say, hey, we're trying to

trade you, we're trying to trade you, and then think he's going to come back in smoothly

into the fold and just go. He just doesn't come across as that type of person. So it just felt

like once time I went by and they didn't trade him,

and especially because he's been hurt a good amount these last two years,

I think it's hard to trade guys, especially of his level of play,
