Summary

We're proud and pleased to bring back one of our most intriguing guests, Terry Lovelace, Esq., to talk about his new book, Devil's Den: The Reckoning. Our first interview with Terry, episode 155: "Abduction at Devil's Den," which aired on October 13, 2019, is one of our most popular and one of the most talked-about. Surprisingly, not because of its controversial nature, but because Terry's unassailable character has imbued chilling credibility to his claims, leaving the listener to ponder the terrifying implications. Terry's first book chronicled his life-long encounters with extraterrestrial beings, culminating in a partially-suppressed, horrific abduction while camping with his best friend at Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas. At the time, Terry and his friend Toby served in the USAF as EMTs stationed at Whiteman AFB in June of 1977. While the ordeal would sadly ruin Toby's life, Terry would go on to a successful career in law, eventually becoming Assistant Attorney General for the U.S. Territory of American Samoa and a State's Attorney for Vermont's Board of Medical Practice. Currently working as a certified healthcare risk manager, the first half of Terry's follow-up book expands on his lifetime of experiences, including mind-blowing details he initially left out, thinking they would be too outrageous and incredible for the reader to believe. The second half of Terry's new book, which we'll cover in part two of our conversation, features stories sent to him by his readers who have had their own bizarre and impossible experiences. Join us tonight for some answers to a reckoning for an incident at Devil's Den.

It was such a bone-gilling story that it feels much more recent to us in a lot of ways.

Terry, a former felony prosecutor and now Certified Healthcare Risk Manager, is a compelling and believable eyewitness, and we're not the only ones who think that.

His episode elicited more emails than nearly all of the shows preceding it, and that tracks because we're not the only ones getting emails and letters.

Terry was too. And he collected, read, and saved all of them.

This new book is called Devil's Den, The Reckoning, and much like Incident at Devil's Den, it is enthralling.

When someone has a personal experience like this, what happens after it's over? What is the aftermath?

1:18.0

Oftentimes, there's so much more than just the incident itself.

1:22.0

There are ongoing attempts to make sense of it and deal with the fallout for the people affected by it and the damage done to the survivors.

It must be quite a thing to go through an abduction experience and quite something else to hear from people worldwide that have had something similar happen to them too.

The extraterrestrials chose to appear to me as circus monkeys. They chose to appear in a way I would find less threatening and adults would find impossible to believe.

That we are folks, and it feels good to be back. You didn't think the scary stories were going to end with Halloween, did you?

2:33.0

No, we have a few very quick announcements to make tonight. The first one being that I have to make a correction to something I said in the Exorcist Part 3.

2:40.0

Uh-oh, here it comes.

2:42.0

Yeah, I, well, this is entirely on, on me. This is my fault. I had said that our guest, Sarah, from Sarah and the Spider Woman, had been diagnosed with anti-NMDR and cephalitis, which was not the case to be more accurate.
