0:09.3	Well, I was like you, Susan, and I learned last episode for the first time that many called
0:14.9	Deuteronomy the gospel according to Moses, because it provides the foundation for the Old
0:19.5	Testament the way that the book of
0:21.0	Romans often called the gospel according to Paul. And that's the theological foundations for the
0:26.8	New Testament. That was one of my Bible benders from last episode. And my other one was that this is
0:33.3	Jesus's favorite book. Or we think it is because he quoted it so much.

0:39.3	It was his favorite book to quote.
0:41.0	It was his best defense against the enemy.
0:44.3	And that means it should be our best defense too sometimes.

0:48.6	If it mattered to Jesus, it should matter to us.

0:51.5	And I love that the theme verse is still relevant today. I have set before
0:55.8	you life and death, blessings and curses, now choose life so that you and your children may live,
1:02.1	and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. And so to sum up
1:07.0	Deuteronomy, it is the story of Moses's final words to encourage the next generation
1:12.7	to be faithful to God. And also for me, it is that if God make a promise to you, even if you
1:20.0	haven't seen it happen as quickly as you hoped, his promises he keeps. And so do what Moses is
1:27.4	doing for the Israelites. Remind yourself about that
